GOODGUYS ROD & CUSTOM ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES REVAMPED CLASSIC PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS AUTOCROSS SERIES FOR 2021
Along with the revamped series, Goodguys launches a new autocross-specific website that includes a live timing feed, introduces new rules and announces additional event sponsors.
PLEASANTON, Calif. (April 28, 2021) – Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, organizer of the Goodguys Classic Performance Products (CPP) AutoCross Series, has expanded its autocross events to be more inclusive for beginners, opening the field to more drivers and cars, alongside a new website with information and resources for drivers and spectators. Racers will be able to compete in the nationwide, 15-event series in one of the seven available classes open to classic and late model American and American-powered cars and trucks as well as in a Fun Run non-competitive class.
In support of its popular CPP AutoCross Series, Goodguys has launched a new website for the series, GoodguysAX.com. The website includes a full season schedule, live timing updates for drivers and spectators, the current rulebook and the season points standings. Additionally, the website features resources for current drivers and prospective drivers, fans, sponsors and vendors that includes how-to articles, driving and car preparation tips, photo galleries and links to sponsor and vendor products and services.
The new rules for 2021 include the addition of the FiTech EFI Challenger Class which is designed to help new drivers learn the ropes and develop their skills. This new class is open to all production-based vehicles 1987 or older in appearance and includes a “breakout” rule that protects the integrity of the class by automatically moving more experienced drivers into the more competitive classes.
“Goodguys events have always appealed to every type of enthusiast, fan, or first-time visitor,” said Googuys Chief Operating Officer Andrew Ebel. “The CPP AutoCross Series has grown from an attraction into an event all its own, attracting dedicated fans who follow the series. Thanks to its continued growth and popularity, we’ve decided to give the series additional support with its own website and more resources for fans and drivers to enjoy the racing action.”
The Goodguys CPP AutoCross Series runs at each stop on the Goodguys calendar and the full event schedule can be found on the new Goodguys AutoCross website. In addition to Classic Performance Products (CPP) and FiTech Fuel Injection, other new sponsors for 2021 include OPTIMA Batteries as the Official Live Timing Sponsor, Wilwood Disc Brakes as the sponsor of the All American Class for late models and GearStar Transmission as a presenting sponsor of the series.
Admission to watch the autocross events is included as part of the ticket to Goodguys events and are available on the Goodguys website. For more information on the CPP AutoCross schedule, rules or for live timing and results, visit Goodguysax.com.
