The “Boss” in the Boss 302 Mustang’s name came from original designer Larry Shinoda’s reference to Bunkie Knudsen, Ford’s CEO and an outspoken proponent of the car’s development, who told his designers, “I want to design a car that’s the coolest Mustang out there. I don’t want somebody else’s name on it, like a Shelby.”
Whether you like populating your backseat with first-place trophies at car shows, want a special ride for a Saturday night one-on-one or just like the bragging rights of classic iron in your garage, this surviving example of classic Mustang performance will keep you smiling day in and day out.

You Can’t Get Rarer than One of One!
In 1970, Ford produced 7,014 Boss 302 Mustangs but only one of them came with special-ordered Burnt Orange Poly paint (a 1969 Lincoln production color). Ford refused to build the car but the original owner, a Ford dealership employee, kept resubmitting it, until Ford finally agreed. That makes this “survivor” 1970 Boss 302 Mustang with one owner and 59,000 original miles a true one of one.
This 1970 Ford Boss 302 Mustang was born on November 14, 1969, and delivered new to that original owner, a salesman at Costello Kunze Ford in Jennings, Missouri. It retailed for $4,124.05.
This survivor Boss 302 Mustang comes with a treasure trove of documentation, including window sticker, temporary owner card, warranty plate, broadcast sheet, assembly inspection card, dealer new-car thank you letter, vanity license plates, owner’s manual, dealer brochure and service records.
When you enter to win with your donation to help veterans and kids, we’ll set aside $25,000 in cash to pay the IRS on your behalf if you’re the winner.
