VIDEO: The ROUSH 729 is Unveiled at SEMA!

The latest dose of excitement the folks at ROUSH are dishing out at SEMA 2017 is the ROUSH 729, and it’s completely badass. When they built this Grabber Green monster, they built it as an homage to one of Ford’s most badass pony cars, the Boss 429.

ROUSH has expertly captured the essence of the Boss in their one-of-a-kind ROUSH 729. The custom wide-body kit designed by ROUSH and Stratasys gives it a muscular stance, and the functional “Air Gobbler” ram-air hood scoop is reminiscent of the original Boss 429 scoop.

The ROUSH 729 badges on the front fenders are a simple, yet bold statement to the 729’s heritage, and the stunning Grabber Green paint is a nod to one of the 1970 colors available on the Boss; only 95 of the 500 built in 1970 came in this hue.

Under the hood is a 5.0 topped by ROUSH’s new 2.65L TVS supercharger, and along with ROUSH’s X-pipe, and Active Quad-Tip Exhaust system, that allows the owner to tune the exhaust note, the Grabber Green beast is good for 729 horsepower, hence, the name of the car.

Rolling on 20-inch Vossen wheels wrapped in fat Continental Extreme Contact tires, they work in harmony with the ROUSH 3-way adjustable suspension system. This allows the 729 to really stick to the ground to the tune of 1.07 lateral G’s on the skid pad, and the whole package stops on a dime with a set of custom gold-painted Brembo GT-Series brakes.

There’s just too many items to list here, but from the Katzkin-covered Recaro seats to the hood heat extractors, ROUSH has done more than build a tribute car, the 729 is a showcase of experimental components that are under consideration for production for 2015-2018 Mustangs. Mainly, the new, 2.65L TVS supercharger sitting atop Ford’s latest 5.0, and many of the body components like the front splitter, rear spoiler and the lower grille, just to name a few items.

The wide-body kit is still in question, but if there’s enough interest, you just may see it as well. You can always contact the people at ROUSH to see what’s on deck. When it comes to bringing excitement for the Mustang, ROUSH never disappoints.
